INDIA Celebrated its 61st Republic Day . Lets discuss what a technocrat can contribute to the continuous march of INDIA towards a well developed knowledge society ...

I dedicate this post , mainly concerning with the problems that are resisting India , to progress on a fast track manner.
I found those problems are best put forward by the eminent scientist and India's former president Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam  in form of several questions asked by him !!!!

The questions are as follows ...

1. What do we have to do to enable India to enter into the G-8 group of nations ?

2.More than 40 million tonnes of food grains are stocked which is creating economic stagnation , why , analyze reason and suggest solution

3.Can you establish the dynamics of leadership with , technology- industry - Society ?

4.Discuss the distinct features of agriculture society , industrial society , Information Society , knowledge Society and how the feedback mechanism is useful in improving these societies ?

5.Empowering the village cluster is important in India's development . Discuss  the concept of PURA with reference to PEEK ..

I hereby attempting to discuss the question (3) mentioned above !

Can you establish the dynamics of leadership with Technology-Industry-Society ?

The answer is Yes , the reason behind is,a good leadership provides you a direction in which milestones of progress can be accomplished , it is possible in all fields , let it be Technology , Industry or the amalgamation of all these to come up with more sophisticated and managed civilization.
A leader in technology-industry society will not only think upon the demands of industry but also come out with innovative outcomes through technological efforts.

In INDIA unfortunately the following things(technology-industry development) are not well managed but controversies  paves their roadway if something productive (mainly related to technology-industry) is planned. The political issues are raised taking the advantage of unaware society.I think we in initial stages must develop a technological communication media which will facilitate awareness amongst people related to what actually is being planned and accordingly let them take their decision (depending upon what is right and what is not).
A good leader who is a technocrat as well as a good decision maker can take that initiative and facilitate the needful in concern sector. It will be profitable not only for country's technology inventions but also for industry(which will be served with locally available technological solutions).

We INDIANs must be proud of one of such technocrat(Mr. NANDAN NILEKANI) who not only took the challenge of critical technology solution UID in INDIA but also transformed it into a successful project within deadlines. He showed his leadership experience while transforming this technological plan into reality and he is successful. INDIA desperately need more NANADAN NILEKANI to
motivate , guide and assist development of technology-industry society ,.....

I say INDIAN Engineers and technocrat have that capability .... why not to dream for that ... . instead of being satisfied in pursuing jobs abroad just because they make us earn more .... ??????

In India , "technology denied is technology gained"

We all Indians are familiar with the technological breakthrough of India where , a lot of critical technology came into existence just because of efforts put in by some great scientists

Dr. Homi Bhaba ,
Dr. Vikram Sarabhai ,
Dr. Satish Dhawan ,
Dr. C.V. Raman , Dr. A.P.J. Abdul kalam etc....

There are following reasons why they were successful.

1. Attitude of taking many risks.
2. Focussed approach towards indigenous innovation.
3. Capacity of working in a group , both as a Team leader as well as Team members hours together.
4.Innate desire to envision INDIA as a Developed Country.

INDIA is a country which have undergone through many foreign invasions. The purpose of invasions were diverse. Some invaded the country for the sake of gold ,some for showing their might and extending the geographical boundary of their empire. Nowadays with the start of information era India is facing a new invasion from developed countries , The Invasion that restricts INDIA to prosper in terms of cut edge and critical technologies. The invasion is in terms of Technology Control regimes and many other..

CASE STUDY :-

During those early days of India's development towards space technology , it was denied with many things , for which India was in-need of. The most prominent example is Satellite launch Vehicles . But Our scientists took this denial as an opportunity towards indigenous innovation and development in our country. Their team work and endeavours lead to the birth of SLV which was indigenously designed and tested for accuracy.

The one and only spirit that motivated them towards such development is the spirit to innovate , to develop something which is solely INDIAN and not dependent. Once INDIAN scientists achieved that breakthrough , they never looked back , but came out with many more indigenous designs and products like missiles , satellites , space research centres , satellite launching centres and many more.
Thus INDIANs proved in one way that  , for them IF SOMETHING IS DENIED , THERE IS NO DEARTH  OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE , THAT COULDN'T HEAL THOSE WOUNDS OF DENIAL and SO IS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY.

Thus Technology denied is technology gained for INDIA.
==================================================

Now this is our turn , the turn of we engineers and scientists to contribute towards innovation , the innovation which will make INDIA self reliant in terms of technology. That will satisfy one goal of INDIANS to transform India into a Knowledge Society.

                                                     P.U.R.A.
(Providing Urban Amenities in rural Areas)

(A dream of great societal transformation in India)

INTRODUCTION :-

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has become President of India (July 25, 2002), he has spearheaded a socio-economic movement of igniting the young minds with positive thoughts and of propagating the "Developed India by 2020" vision with constructive mission modes. PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) is the major component of President's Dream for developed India. It differs from the conventional ideas of economic development of rural areas in many ways--a comprehensive and composite rural development, government investment at urban levels in rural programmes, reverse rural-urban migration, the prerequisite quality infrastructure, supportive modern industry and investment in social and commercial service and private enterprise initiative.

P.U.R.A. The acronym stands for (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas of India).

Being a great visionary Dr.  A.P.J Abdul Kalam dreamed of this model(PURA) to convert the rural India into a developed , prosper and self sufficient nation contributing in majority towards a knowledge society.

India is a country of villages. Most of Indian population live here in village.
But because of its underdeveloped nature , people fails to prosper their lives and hence choose the pathway towards developed cities to earn their livelihood.
And this contribute a large in the city's congestion and many other uncountable problems.
To envision this great and bio-diverse country into a developed nation PURA will contribute a lot addressing the problem of billions of Indians.

Lets look at what actually PURA model is ........

Just by analysing  the image above we can guess how great the project is.

1.The project is comprised of connecting at-least 10-12 villages in a circular  fashion giving connectivity through a lot of high tech facilities and developing a knowledge society. The Information and Communication Technology will play a very vital role in establishing a communication infrastructure.
The whole plan will be monitored and managed by a joint association between public and private sector contributing towards its continuous growth and development.

2.There will a well managed transport facility providing the whole cluster a unique way of transport from one PURA infrastructure zone to the others. If possible the satellite communication will be used for giving high tech facilities of weather forecasting and many other to the citizens.

3.The PURA cluster will be well equipped with E-Governance , healthcare , tele-education , and all those facilities proving a prosperous and self reliant infrastructure.

4.Dr.Abdul Kalam said "Technology denied is technology gained " , he not only dared to think of it but also implemented it which brought a feather of recognition to the India.

Now he dreamed of this technology to be used for converting INDIA into a knowledge society. I think all Indian engineers and entrepreneurs  should contribute to this  dream conversion into a reality , thereby giving India a great recognition of Developed Country (A Guru of whole world).
